A distasteful debate

I know that politics can be a dirty business but when I watched the debate between Clinton and Trump I was very disturbed by it. They were washing their dirty linen in public – that is how it seemed to me anyway. I don’t think that democracy calls for this kind of ‘openness’ and I would be ashamed if this became the norm in the political arena.
I do not understand why parties allow candidates to represent them when they know the baggage that might be revealed in the media or for the media’s attention. Surely they must investigate the skeletons in the cupboards of hopeful candidates before they make a decision, especially for the top job - it would save everyone a great deal of embarrassment.

I so agree. I think that it says a lot about the characters in the political area. I think that parties should have more power to get rid of people and not let them run if they are going to be so self serving and nasty. I think we could learn a lot more about the positions of the candidates too instead of having to wade through all the baggage and skeletons too.

The less we learn the more we are prone to speculate. Politics have come to a sorry state when the past is given more priority than goals for the future.

@msiduri 'April Fools Day is over it's time to bring ot the real candidates," oh you poor soul. LOL! xD They got this fr because people don't care about the economy, laws, rules, and regulations. No, they care about emotionally fueled sensationalist b.s. That's how these two got this far!

I'm so sorry the rest of the world has been subjected to the embarrassing spectacle that is the Donald Trump campaign. Please judge us more by the current residents of the White House with all their class, dignity and grace and not by the vulgar family from the other party that is now looking to bring our country down.

What makes me sad is that this woman can own both Trump and Hillary on a debate but she is not allowed to debate them because she is a 3rd party candidate:
Green Party Presidential candidate, Jill Stein, responds to the town hall debate in St. Louis, MO between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
