One of the most serious jobs a person can have is as a 911 operator. Someone's life may hang in the balance of getting emergency help. Well apparently Crenshanda Williams of Houston doesn't see it that way. As a 911 operator, she hung up on thousands of callers asking for help. According to her, "She didn't feel like talking" and "Ain't nobody got time for this. For real". In one incident, a caller was at a convenience store while it was being robbed. He called 911 and Ms. Williams hung up on him. He had to call back to get assistance. By the time the police got there the store manager had been shot and killed. Ms. Williams was fired. Ya think!!!! She is only facing Misdemeanor charges for this outrageous behavior. When your occupation involves the possibility of saving lives; Do Your Damn Job!!!!
A former 911 operator in Houston hung up on thousands of callers because "she did not want to talk to anyone," according to investigators.

Found it also strange as if a 911 operator hanging up isn't, that no one noticed she was hanging up on thousands?

That's what I can't figure out @Bluedoll . I would think the person sitting next to her would have noticed something.

@Jenning No, because they never got the calls to go to where the problems were.

I am surprised she was only fired. It is for her fault that someone had been killed.

The person who hired her, who decided she was capable of doing that job is the one at fault. No way should she be doing (or not doing) this kind of job.

Since 911 operators are paid extremely well @MsTickle , maybe she just thought she could cut corners and still bring in a good paycheck.

If she does not like to talk on the phone, well she should not have applied for the job. Someone should have caught on right away that she was doing this. I hope she is considered unemployable at anything more than menial labor in the future.

WOW there is no excuse for that. Glad she was fired yeah that job can be very stressful I know from experience but I'd would never, ever hang up on someone. If it's a call you can't handle you get your supervisor or another dispatcher to help you.

Exactly @AutumnSnow . And she was hanging up on most of the calls 20 seconds after they came in.

@nanette64 Yeah she doesnt need to be in that line of work. Granted there are those crazy calls that come in but you can't just assume you have take every call seriously.
