Seeking for a Greener Pasture

Filipinos are hardworking people. That is a statement of a fact. Most of them working abroad to seek greener pasture are being loved by their employers because of their dedication and commitment. They can capitalize on their natural attitude that they attach to their work. They all come from all corners of the country, the Philippines. They leave because of reasons only them can justify—political, economic and personal.
A doctor from the Visayas, for example wants to find better opportunities in the fields of medicine. A common man from Manila who dreams of traveling around the world, a teacher who from Mindanao who dreams of giving her family a better life or may be a civilian employee from Cebu who feels that the society and the government are all up against him wants to seek refuge.
Whatever reasons they have, there is only one common and major reason why they leave. Most of them dream bigger dreams and the only options they can see are trying to look for it on the other side. What happens to them when they leave their country and some not is able to return for a very long time…and some even go home inside the cold boxes? Is it really benefiting them and the country as well, these we call modern day heroes? We had heard their stories…and what we can only wish for the rest is that may they find the fulfillment in the dreams that they have.

@cherigucchi A philosophical observation.I think as long as more opportunities are available elsewhere people who want especially good life for their family will always go in search of greener pastures. This is true not only of your country,Here in my country the same thing is happening.

Absolutely right. I just hope that we get better opportunities here.

So true.
Aren't Filipinos considered global citizens because you can find one in each nook and cranny of the world?
Really can't blame Filipinos for looking for jobs in other countries. I have been tempted as well to go to another country to find greener pastures but my love for my family outweighs it ten-fold.

I think that is true. People in the country have mostly been influenced that whatever is out there is better than whatever the country can offer, may it be food or products, or work salaries.
I think that a lot of those who went and pursued a job abroad many years back and even before all of these "modern day heroes" whatsoever is branded to the OFW has been successful. But at what cost? I think when people go abroad, they have t consider what they are willing to risk for that dream of bigger salaries.
It is not because there are no jobs here, but it is the promise of a new life that most of those who are there sees and hopes to achieve. You see, when you have bigger salary, your expenses will follow.

I am happy for those who despite going abroad to work , has a family that is intact . Sad, that for some , their family would go broken . The husband or wife has found somebody to fill in the longing for the partner .

That is correct. But of course a lot of people want to push their luck elsewhere.
