Conscience

Lately, I could not help noticing the increase in the acts of violence like beating up elderly parent or parents, mistresses, babies, toddlers or among children. I don't know about you, but when I so much as punish my daughters I could feel that pain inside of me, that just wants to put a stop to what I was doing. Even when I am agitated to my limits, I just could not bring myself to raise my hand on the other party. You may call it conscience, guilt or face saving but I have to wonder about these "assailants" as to whatever happened to them.
I simply cannot believe that they are being raised or taught to resolve matters using violence. My experiences with conscience, guilt or egos just doesn't disappear and reappear as and when you want. Something must have triggered them to such a state.
What do you think?

It is beyond me why some people would go so far as to beat their parents up.They are either inhuman or crazy.

Whatever the cause may be there are really a lot for one to actually bring himself or herself to be so violent. I doubt if they actually see it coming inside of them especially striking the ones they love dearly. Also especially the children, where they are literally so young and definitely have more to pick up.

@artemeis When I see parents being "inhuman" with their children, I have to resist my inner urge to intervene. I can relate with example that love knows no bounds and is anytime a better sulution to violence.
We should explain to our parents our position when they are unreasonable than resort to violence and vulgarity - siva

It is due to basic empathy and compassion that is missing in some.
They take out their frustrations on the most vulnerable.
I have seen daily instances when the 'successful" people, having been the beneficiaries of kindness, pretend to forget them when those who helped them become old. They are easily forgotten.
We may still call ourselves human, but humanness is easily forgotten.
Might is right rules the world and children are set a bad example to follow and the vicious cycle is perpetrated - siva

Conscience is like an inner guide or warning signal that warns us when we are about to do something wrong. Like any sensitive instrument, it has to be maintained to work properly. Much of the entertainment that people watch is violent and abusive and this dulls or distorts the conscience or inner voice and it longer functions properly.

I have been brought up in a loving environment and I followed my parents way of upbringing children - through example.
Violence begets violence and leaves a lifelong scar.
I still remember some employers being so unreasonable not even to listen - just shout orders and jump to conclusions.
To feel guilty one needs a conscience always alive within us - siva
