I’m having a difficult time, getting back to my normal routine after a week at the beach and a totally different routine. Every day we were there we were out and about, seeing the sights and eating seafood. We went to the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center one day and spent several hours there. There was so much to see. The place is HUGE! We saw Komodo dragons, crocodiles, sharks and sea turtles. We got to pet sting rays. Their sting barbs had been removed and they LOVED being petted. They would come right to the edge of the tank so that you could reach down and touch them. We saw jellyfish, lobsters, sea horses and venomous snakes. There were also fiddler crabs, otters, cobras and hedge hogs. There were also many exhibits that explained the various animals in the upland rivers, the coastal rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. We were there several hours, looking at all the exhibits and then we got to see a very interesting movie about how animals can adapt to their surroundings. It was a very nice day spent at the aquarium and then we had lunch at a seafood restaurant. The weather was fabulous, so we ate at a table outside on the patio of the restaurant, right on the beach. Fabulous!

It definitely does sound like you had a good time. It can be difficult to get back into a routine, when you come back from a vacation.

@IreneVincent Lol. It takes me some time too. There are times, when I've woken up and expect to still be on vacation, but find myself back at home.

@dodo19 It's a crazy feeling. It works in reverse too. The first morning at the beach, when I woke up, I felt like saying: "Where am I?"

I know it's been difficult for me. I just keep looking at my photos and when I wake up in the morning, I'm thinking that I'm still at the beach.

It was a wonderful week and I was so thankful that the weather was SUPERB! Following the hurricane that did a lot of damage to the coastal areas, we were concerned. But, we couldn't have asked for better weather. It was amazing and we had such a good time, the entire week. I hope you get your vacation next year. It's always good to get away for a few days.

Sounds like a great place. I like when an aquarium features local water life.

Yes, we took the time to read all the information at each exhibit and there was a lot to learn. At the end of some sections there was a QUIZ on the wall and we enjoyed that. I'm all for learning more about things.
