why do women accept being objectified?

I could never understand this. why would women accept such a treatment from men? I was coming home from work and a man and his girlfriend were walking side by side. all of a sudden he gave her a palm on her bottom. I'm not absurd but I don't find it appropriate to do such gestures in public...I mean if my man would do this to me we would surely argue. it shows little or no respect in my opinion

The quality, prestige and standards a woman gives to herself will determine how men will rate them. When a woman is rated low, such things happen.

the same reason why some men doesnt like to wear a shirt on. The attention makes them feel empowered.

I completely agree with you. I don't like that gesture. It's a complete show of disrespect to her partner. But we can't blame some woman to not do anything about it either. It's her interpretation of the action of her partner that led her to do what she did or did not.
