I have heard very bad stories about Kaiser insurance. I have known people that have had bad things happen with Kaiser.
There was a college girls jogging on a path, who had Kaiser and she fell down a ledge and broke her leg. She yelled for help, people called an ambulance and the rescue people got her off the ledge and took her to the hospital. Kaiser would not pay for it, said that she should of climbed off the cliff herself and drove herself to the hospital...... with a broken leg!
A few years later a couple that had Kaiser also had a little boy that was sick. They have to call Kaiser first to get permission to take him to an ER. Kaiser told them what hospital they could take him to. They got there and was told that they did not have the equipment at that hospital to care for him. So they had to call Kaiser again to get permission to go to another hospital and which one. They told them another one 45 minutes away and said that would not approve for an ambulance. Sadly on the way the child died!
Then a friend of mine that was a maid at a hospital had a back problem. She always had to go to the Kaiser clinic about a half an hour from the hospital to be examined. The never gave her any treatment.
My sister's in laws had Kaiser and lived 10 minutes from the hospital but had to drive 1 hour and pass 2 more hospital's to the Kaiser clinic . The father-in-law had some medical issues that they already knew of but they still had to be examined by them before they would give him permission to go all the way back home to the hospital they were near in the first place!
I was talking to a neighbor that had worked for the government and at first he had Kaiser then he switched to Aetna. He keeps getting letters from Kaiser asking why him and his wife are not using their Kaiser plan. He has been off it for 2 years and his wife has been dead for 1 year and 1 month! He has been there and they have made copies of their Aetna cards and her death certificate.
My oldest son and his wife listen to nothing I say (unless I told them I won the lottery!). but they got Kaiser anyway just before they moved from here. They tried to change their address and was told that they can change their daughter's and her husbands but not her's because she is the policy holder! One day they got notice that their daughter's policy was closed. They finally got that straight, then my son's was off. Then his pregnant wife's and she is the policy holder!
Now my son is in the hospital with a stomach issue and needs surgery, but the hospital was sent to they will not pay for the surgery at. But the only hospital they will pay for at has no beds! SMH!

Actually I don't know what happened to Kaiser, but I thought, as a Insurance Company, service always first.
