A Day Off Work

A day off work did not mean I got to sleep in. We are on our way soon to a nearby town where we will visit with a specialist, and my husband will have a full body bone scan to be sure he does not have cancer anywhere except the one location.
I will also shop for my Christmas Child shoe boxes to get them packed up.
Hubby has been asked to stop into his job briefly this morning, and he will also be able to stop in on our way home. So for part of our trip he will get mileage pay.He needs to take some pictures of some things that Wal Mart is supposed to get done today. No, he does not work for Wal Mart but for a company that helps with signage and also makes sure they do what they are supposed to.
We will be eating out all day today, but this is the only day we have done so all week. I do not plan to eat out the rest of the weekend, either.
So today is not much different for me on myLot than any other Friday. I will see you this evening and try to catch up with any news you share.

We are trying to put together Christmas Child boxes at our church this year, but it's so disorganized and at the last minute. The man I thought was in charge I guess really wasn't so now someone else is and we have to have them turned in very soon.

Yes, November 14. We have taken a few things to church ever since August, but most of us are doing them at home. We still have five left at church that no one took, so we will fill those. I took six boxes because I have six grand kids. Samantha's kids will be impressed. Traci's kids will be "meh".

@marsha32 It is a good plan. We were not sure we could get official boxes but someone managed to and we put out a list. We started this school supplies at the same time

@GardenGerty If we were on it like we should have been we would have had a box out with a list of contents for the box and how many of each needed and been asking members to bring what they could, marking off the list as things came in.
What he is doing now is asking for money donations so we can go out and buy the items.
We need to think for next year of having the boxes there with a list of what items to go in and let people who want to take a box to fill on their own.

We had a long day, hubby was awake a lot the night before. I met the urologist and he did some explaining and we will be doing some thinking the next couple of weeks about the treatment.

I hope that your husband's scan comes back negative. Saying a prayer for him.
Hubby will be hunting this weekend. That will give me the opportunity to relax and maybe work on my knitting.

@GardenGerty yes he is hunting deer, and would have had a good one this morning. The buck was behind a bunch of trees and he couldn't get a clear shot. He won't shoot unless he has a clear shot.
I have finished a hat and am about to start another. If I had the yarn I need to start the hooded sweater for my granddaughter, I would be working on that.

He still managed to get five hours of work in, for real. He always gets mileage for his job if we go to the job at all.

The urologist says it is just precautionary, and that 95% of the time the cancer is contained to the prostate.

We know that there is cancer, the bone scan is supposed to show that it is localized.
