When Mom's and my old family friend came over this afternoon, she brought two big shopping bags of old needlework projects that her mom was getting rid of.
Most of it was stuff I either hadn't tried in a long time, or had never done before.
Two of the kits caught my eye, as they reminded me of something Mom liked.
Growing up in Canada, she said she always liked the look of blue Christmas lights on the snow. Now that I see anything that involves blue and snow, I think of Mom.
There were two such kits in the bags--the one pictured is the smaller of the two.
The kit is needlepoint, which I have never tried. I thought that I might try to convert it to cross stitch somehow, but then--I may try my hand at needle point. Like I said to Mom, if I "mess it up" too badly, we could always keep it and hang it somewhere in the house (as opposed to my trying to sell it on Etsy, etc.).
Of course I won't be trying this until I finish the "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" project, and after that do my first jar lid, which shouldn't take that long...

Needlepoint is very close to cross stitch. If you can do cross stitch, you'll find this is very very easy.
