My day today 11-8-16

This morning during my sons cyber school homeroom class they had them watch a video of the book "Duck for President". I knew voting was coming up but did not realize it was today. After we finished his online classes I saw what a beautiful day it was outside and took my son to the park for an hour to play basketball, on the swings and playground. He had fun and I was so thankful to have such a nice day to get him outside for some exercise. I was shocked how warm it was! For a treat today I made Peach Cobbler Dump Cake. It was so easy to make and so much yummier then I had expected. My son thought it looked gross so he didn't try any but my daughter loved it. I attached a photo of my treat dished up and ready to eat. It is only 8:40 pm and I am exhausted. My kids went to bed at 8 and I just got a load of laundry and some of the dishes done. I am going to take a shower and then read for however long I can keep my eyes open... I'm having trouble at this point.

That looks a really nice cake. It's a shame your son wouldn't even try it.

It's okay he is picky as I was at his age so I understand how he feels and don't force him to eat anything he doen't want to. I am always happy when he does try new things though and make sure at those times to tell him so.

@JudyEv Will thet try them at least or no? We were at Walmart yesterday and they were cooking tater tots in a no oil kind of fryer and giving out samples. My son would never try tater tots but he tried these and liked them. I was proud he tried them and so happy he liked them!

@shaggin Some kids are very suspicious when it comes to 'new' foods.

@shaggin The weather can be strange. Glad your boy could get outside to play, when i was a kid, we were outside all day when we weren't at school. It was raining here most of the day too.

@MsTickle I loved playing outside as a kid... My sister did not. I am still very outdoorsy and she still is not haha.

He had some time for that before bed. We did quite a few lessons today to make up some things the classmates had done before we arrived at cyber school. I was so happy for a warm day to get him out to play! Its rainy today here. I don't think I've ever seen it so warm in November as it was yesterday.

We are lucky since he is coming in at the end of the first quarter there isn't much work he has to do since most the work for the classmates is studying what they already learned.

Boxed cake mix is not healthy at all but it sure is yummy. This was delicious! I might make it again soon as I have a box of cake mix and 4 cans of peaches left.

I am so sorry that your son did not even want to try your cake. He sounds a bit like my husband, if it does not look nice he does not want to taste.

I wasn't upset about my son not wanting to try it I was always a terribly picky eater as a kid so I understand how he feels and don't force it. I figured with three cans of peaches it was pretty much the healthiest out of any desserts I've made so if I had to eat it I wouldn't feel so guilty haha.

Both of my kids are very picky so I didn't think either would eat it. I was pleasently surprised when my daughter loved it!
