What am I talking about? Well for NanoWriMo, I'mma work on my story "Dark Passage," and submit it. I was working on the second chapter before I had to reformat my hard drive, and now that I can continue working on it, I'mma see it to completion. The problem is I planned out how I was going to end the story. See the plot deals with a witch who abandoned her cult after she prevented her childhood friend from being sacrificed to the fallen angel "Mastema." Seeing this as an act of betrayal, the cult tracks down the witch and kidnaps her son, who she sets out to rescue. I intend to end the story with the witch asking Mastema to return her son to which he does after seeing the strength of her resolve. I planned this ending because in doing research to find an entity to build a fictional cult around I chose Mastema merely because I liked the spelling and sound of his name. Depending of where you look he's seen as an angel or demon who test the faith of mortal men, allegedly being the "Satan" that tested Job's faith in the Bible. I figured this would be perfect given that Dark Passage deals with a mother rescuing her child. But I feel many might find the ending to be anti-climatic, and feel Naruto fans might feel it's similar to the ending of the "Pain Arc." For those not familiar with Naruto, I'll explain:"In on of the many story arcs of the Naruto series known as 'The Pain Arc," the title character, Naruto meets the leader of a small group known simply as "Pain." In speaking with this leader, Naruto gets through to him causing this leader to revive all those he killed in their conflict in Naruto's village." That's what I feel I may face in completing Dark Passage, but the uncertainty of this has me conclude to just write it, publish it and see what happens.
