Popular Saying – To Milk

To milk someone is to take their money, often all of it through confidence trickery and fraud. The cow willingly yields its milk; the person being swindled freely gives the money, credit or goods to the con-man. Theft, mugging, etc. is not milking.
I have been milked – getting seduced into a cult in my early adult years, I was a willing accomplice in my own milking for four and a half years, even helping to milk others.
The milkers have a whole new sophisticated electronic dairy at their disposal online. More people have been milked there in the decades of internet access than were ever milked before it.
The guy who once sold some sap The Brooklyn Bridge could probably sell it over and over again online nowadays.
Once you have been milked any more milk you produce has a sour taste to it – the taste of bitterness. Take care not to be milked.
