I have loved Bette Davis since I was a child. My mom often watched movies on TV that were even before my time then. She was the Sandra Bullock of our time. I believe. None could compare. A while back feeling very lonely, I wanted to watch "Dead Ringer" again and found it was not on Netflix. So, I ordered it and also some other movies of hers that popped up on the screen. My adult kids have no interest because they are not in color. They don't know what good story lines they are missing. So anyway, I just watched every one the other day. 5 in all. Have seen them all before over the years but some parts seemed new. funny huh? anyone here seen any of her movies? notice how under 50 yrs. most will not watch black and white? lol. What star do you like that seems long time back for you? even if you are to young to remember this one, there must be an "old" star to you that you still love. I really have more to say but some days Mylot does not work easy for my pc. so save it I guess. photo of my downfall. ashtrays I still have and Camel towel advertising those cigs. yes i collected those Camel things too. lol

the younger folks prefer those sci-fi, blood 'n guts movies with no plots these days. i adore ol' black'n whites myself. a fav from days gone by? mercy, hard to choose, but i'd say ms. kathryn hepburn.

I love a good black and white every time. They are more classy too. Ever see "The Uninvited"? Good one about a ghost. And, of course, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

I grew up on black and white old movies. I have watched some Bette Davis movies over the years. I particularly liked watching Doris Day movies which were always light hearted and fun.

When I was young (about 20 yrs ago) I had a tiny (12 inch or less) black and white television in my room. I didn't know anyone else who had a black and white tv at the time but I got to be alone in my room and watch what I wanted so I did not care that it was black and white I was just happy to have it! My kids are 12 & 9 and will not watch black and white movies :-(

@bunnybon7 My daughter is 12 and just asked me to buy her a cheap tv and dvd player to have in her room. She is in her room all the time. If I buy her that I will never see her. She can continue using our family tv in the living room.

@bunnybon7 Saying she is a Sharon Stone or Angelina Jolie of our time will help the younger generation relate.

@bunnybon7 It was a song name after her. Her competitor was actress Joan Crawford.

@CoolPeace no competition where I am concerned. Joan was not that good. yes I loved that Bette Davis eyes song as that was Bettes best feature. Y ou could always see everything in her eyes even if she did not say anything. probably what made her so good

WIth strict parents, I grew up on old movies. One of my favorite black and white movies (besides It's a Wonderful Life) was Arsenic and Old Lace. Have you ever seen Watcher in the Woods? Bette Davis scared me witless in that movie! She was old at that time, but no less affecting. I like your comparison to Sandra Bullock.

One of the cable channels is mostly black and white movies. I rarely watch it, or even see what is on, but there are some really good old movies. I found a big stack of Camel cash in a draw not long ago. I found myself sad that I hadn't traded them in for anything.

I don't think I have seen a Betty Davis movie but I do remember the song, "Betty Davis Eyes" by Kim Karnes.

I still love black and white movies, the stories were so much better than the actual movies.
