I bought a drum set..

Yes I did.. and I'm going to give it to my 14 year old for his birthday next weekend.
I brought my daughter and 10 year old son out for hair cuts yesterday. Then my daughter wanted to stop by the thrift store to see if she could find an outfit to wear to t he band banquet tonight.
That's where I saw the drum set. It's not a complete set, just 3 pieces. The bass drum and 2 toms. They were selling it for $25! The drum heads need to be replaced which will cost me more than I paid for the set... but new sets start around $300..
I am excited, and I think my son will be excited. He's been asking for one for years, but they're so expensive!
Plus now it gives me more ideas for Christmas gifts. I'm hoping I can get him a cymbal or 2 to go with it for Christmas..

That's awesome and a great buy too. Hope your daughter was able to find an outfit also. We bought my nephew a drum set a few years ago for 100 bucks as we found it on craigs list and someone local was selling it. He still plays it to this day.

@katsmeow1213 yeah that is pretty crazy, we were lucky to find ours for the price we paid. We knew the guy so he cut us a deal.

I looked on Craigslist for some pieces to go with this, and the cost of used drum sets was crazy! Even a used set people wanted over $300 for it! Glad I found this one, now just need some cymbals to go with it!

He plays a bit in school, so he has basic knowledge of how to use it. Normally he plays baritone, which is a brass instrument... but he likes to try new things.

@katsmeow1213 We both played in brass bands in a previous life and ended up on baritones. We had a lot of fun in the different bands we played in.
