Day 67
Proverbs 12:24
Proverbs 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Are you a hard worker, or hardly work? Everyone knows those who work hard for their living, and by the same token know those who come around looking for handouts on a regular basis.
Solomon also knew those types of individuals. Solomon wasn’t just king of Israel. He was a builder and horticulturist, so had many people working for him, not just in government. As such, he would know who the diligent workers were and who the slackers were.
People in business do not want to delegate authority to those who display a slothful attitude for the work. However, they are more than willing to appoint people in supervisory positions who are diligent, hard-working people who know how to get things done.
As Christians, you are to be a go-getter, diligent for the gospel of Jesus Christ, winning souls for the gospel. However, there are many slothful Christians. They sit on their hands, listening to good sermons, but are unwilling to work to fulfill the Great Commission Jesus gave them. They are the ones that scream heresy when it comes to tithing and doing the necessary work of the kingdom. They would rather let someone else go to the mission fields, while they sit back and hold onto the resources God gave them.
You all know the people you can count on to go the extra mile when it comes to the work of the kingdom, and you know the ones you skip over on the church roster because you know they are only filling a pew.
Jesus told his disciples to GO not STAY. He told them to MAKE. He told them to TEACH. He told them to BAPTIZE. He did not tell them to sit around and let someone else do the work.
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
It’s time all those who call themselves Christians, started doing what Jesus told them to do and Go and Do. It’s time to be diligent not slothful Christians.
Let’s pray: Father, help me be diligent for the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Help me win souls for your kingdom, and teach people about you as you give me opportunity. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

"Are you a hard worker, or hardly work?" That expression made me laugh!
Solomon even tells us to learn from the ants when it comes to industriousness. Let's have a busy day!
