Car-sharing to a hotel?

I was just talking to my partner about car-sharing. I’m going on a visit to a council facility tomorrow and in the email they sent with information of how to get there it says they encourage car-sharing. However since they haven’t passed on the details of anyone else who is going it’s a bit difficult to obtain or offer a lift! My partner, who travels a lot for work, was telling me that some cities have special lanes for car-sharing, and some places such as business parks or conference centres have designated parking spaces for shared cars. The strangest thing is that apparently one hotel he has been to also has special parking for shared cars. Now no-one would drive to an out-of-town hotel unless they were going to stay there, so this means that in order to take advantage of the more convenient parking any single traveller is positively encouraged to take someone else to the hotel with them. Can you imagine cruising around the roads nearby: ‘Hello darlin’, fancy a night at a hotel with me’? Is this just encouraging promiscuity??
