Delayed Package

Most of you have read that I moved. And part of it is making sure that all my mails are going to be forwarded to my new address. Well, I am currently experiencing a delayed package because: 1) I moved and they have yet to send it to the new address, and 2) turns out FedEx transferred the delivery to USPS. I can understand that they have a process in re-routing packages if there is a forwarding order when the recipient has moved. I did change my address the day after I moved but it looks like they have shipped my package to my old address the day before the change is done. But what is the deal with FedEx passing on the delivery to USPS? I paid for the shipping fee as stated in the website of the supplier – but there was no information as to how they will handle and deliver my package. Today is the 8th day that my package is delayed. I called the local post office and it turns out that I have to wait for another week before I can have it. Turns out that any forwarding orders are processed in their main office which is 4 hours away from our town. So basically what happened is, FedEx handled my package and it took 6 days to handle my package from the supplier to this town. Then they transferred it to USPS, who in turn routed it to the main office 4 hours away from here. And since it is thru USPS, I will not see the package until mid next week. So aggravating and frustrating!

@carebear29 Ugh, that's the worst! And usually it would take too long before they notify you that they will refund you, not to mention that the actual refund will also take some time.

@Raine38 The worst part is when they lose the package and have to refund you.

That is a long time to wait for your parcel.

@Raine38 I don't do 'patient' very well.

Sure you paid for it to get to you but did it stipulate how? Hope you don't plan on moving again too soon. Ugh! They have their system that seems to work well for them but not for the customer.

No, there was no other information on how they will deliver the package. And no, I plan to stay put for a while, hopefully with permanency this time. I hate moving for these reasons. I think I have moved 4 times in the past 2 years which is not really a lot but two of these are international moves.

I totally hate delays. My boyfriends parents' don't live here anymore for over 6 months. They changed their address for forwarding mails but we still get them! (especially the junk mail) I hope you get your package soon. :)

For some reason junk mails always find us no matter where we end up living. Yes, I hope to get it soon. I will use it for our vacation next week.

Oh wow, sounds really frustrating! I am about to go through the same thing since I'm expecting a package and I am moving in a couple weeks... I hope it's not a process like you have been through.

Good luck with the move! And yes, hopefully you will be able to avoid what I went through. If it's any help, make sure that you know how they will deliver your package.

Its crazy that you have to wait so long for your package to be delivered. You would think things would run smoothly with your address change

That's what I also thought. Turns out I am wrong. Oh well, another lesson learned: double check the delivery method.
