Victims forced to parent with attackers

i wasn't raped. i couldn't imagine myself being in the position of NOT having a choice but to build a "relationship" to a predator who basically raped me... co-parenting an innocent child with a person who violated my human rights... sexually assaulted me. i may have a little understanding of what is the "law" about but it is just causing so much agony and pain to the victim and her family. watching the video made me realized that i'm blessed. i'm a single mom and chooses not to get support from the father of my child. my son hasn't seen his father for over 10 yrs now and we're alright. we can eat. he goes to school and we don't live in a perfect life. Trapped in a bad dream.:That's how 18-year-old Noemi felt when she learned that she had to hand over her baby daughter to the man convicted of assaulting her.

That is awful. Not a way to keep a child safe.

I am sickened that women who were violated by a person is violated all over again by law. This brings to mind a case I just read about. A man raped his teenage daughter, and the judge sentenced him to three months in prison. He was swayed by the girl's mother's pleas to go easy on her husband. Because yep, she will continue to be married to him.

It must have been so traumatizing for her and even after deciding to push through with the pregnancy, now faced with an unfair treatment by the law forcing her to build a relationship to a rapist. She will only force herself to obey but there can never be a healthy relationship between the two.

What a heartbreak. How could they subject her or the child to that? I hope they can appeal
