The cashier who complained...

Today, I went to Target & being a Saturday - the lines were longer than usual plus it's also the holiday season. The cashier literally had something 'sarcastic' to say to every customer..
1st customer - Wow, so many coupons are printing out. It's like Target is the new CVS. (Because CVS prints a lot of coupons)
2nd customer - Cashier: Do you have the Cartwheel App? Customer: No. Cashier: Well if you did, you could have saved yourself money.
3rd customer (Me) - Wow, you keep pulling out coupons - your entire purchase is going to be free!
What's her problem? It is annoying when cashiers think they own the place. I used a coupon that I received in the mail from Target & saved myself $5 bucks. I also asked her to scan my barcode for Target's cartwheel app which I saved nothing, but to accumulate points for their new rewards program.
Have you ever dealt with cashiers who act as if they own the store? When I'm not in the mood - I surely will make a remark

She really had a nasty mouth on her. I am surprised if the next time you go there she may not be there unless she gets a warning.

She might have thought she was being friendly in her own way. Who knows?

@infatuatedbby - Then again, good customer service seems almost nonexistent these days.

I work with a pile of them like that honestly. It's because they are spoiled little children, or don't care whether they have the job or not.

@infatuatedbby I just find its usually the ones who don't need to work that have the very little work ethic or attitude.

Good to hear you don't experience that there. It happens pretty often. Last time, I bought an eye drop for my dad and his eye drop are over the counter but they're pretty pricey $18! And there's a peelable $3 sticker so I asked the cashier can she scan that coupon- she examined the coupon making sure it's the right product and goes wow $3 you're like getting this for free. Hello! The eye drops are $18 bucks for a small tube! She thought they're like generic eye drops or something! Horrible service.

@LadyDuck Yeah!! I'm surprised insurance doesn't cover eye drops :( My parents both use it!

@infatuatedbby I know how expensive the eye drops are. I have to use eye drops for my glaucoma and the price of a small tube is more or less the same here. The health insurance pay for most of the medications, but not all.

i haven't ever met those kind of cashiers to date. i hope i will not. but it is so strange with her. i think she must be stressed and sometimes she may be worried that she didn't have time to go shopping on Saturday like those who come to her.

No, I seldom will meet a cashier like that. Sometimes the cashier even will tell me how to save money
For example, yesterday when I paid for it, the cashier told me if I could pay by Wechat payment (an online payment here from an app), then I would have some money return. That's so nice

A lot of cashiers are that way. Me and my boyfriend was talking with a cashier at walmart and she was complaining about a customer that used to many coupons. I guess now Walmart changed their coupon changing rules now. Not sure what they are though.

I am not sure of the coupon rules but I know Target allows you to use cartwheel, manufactures & store coupon. I never use that many of have that many to use.

i don't really see/hear those comments as complaining. Of course I didn't see her face or hear her tone.

It was her tone, she was pretty rude and probably didn't like her job.

@AbbyGreenhill Yeah
Does it bug you if they don't pay attention? It won't if they don't get anything wrong & they're not slow

@infatuatedbby Like I said I didn't hear her tone. Down here the cashiers are always so buy yakking to the next cashier they hardly pay attention to the customer.

I was in line with my boyfriend and we both spoke about it.
But my boyfriend always tells me its not worth bringing it up - as it's a lady who is the cashier
However, if I was by myself - I would definitely say something too.
