Diary Saturday 19th November 2016 A relaxing day following my successful big talk on pub signs on Friday and my landlady’s husband came up to look at and fix my flat’s heating problems. This was done with a few tweaks to the heating settings and the addition of a new oil filled radiator. It feels great to have warmth and hot water again especially in the shower. Diary Sunday 20th November 2016 My last chance to stay up late today as with temporary work starting on Tuesday I’ll need early nights in bed from Monday onwards. Today was the day of the creative writing workshop event in Preston town centre which was well attended with a great group writing exercise where the thirteen of us participating wrote thirteen stories at once by each adding the ext line to the stories going round so we ended up with thirteen fourteen line stories – each writer starting and finishing one story each with everyone taking turns to fill in the middle sections. It led to some very surreal and often very funny tales. I called in a bar for a quick beer before returning to the delights of my now fully functional central heating. I came up with some ideas for stories of my own which I wrote out too. Arthur Chappell
