Are we allowed to post things in "chapters" on MyLot?

I have some old posts from my Epinions days that I'd like to post here. But they're too dang long for MyLot. I'm sure the length would scare readers away. Are we allowed to post things as Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc.? I seem to recall reading in the TOS that that wasn't OK. But I'm not sure. Do you get discouraged and move along if a post is too long to gobble up quickly?

Not sure if it's actually allowed, but I have seen it.

Obviously there no ill intent if someone does that.

I have checked the guidelines, is not forbidden and I have seen many posting chapters.

@LadyDuck Maybe I'll break up some of my longer and more interesting pieces (from the past) into smaller bits.

I have seen people posting "Part 1", "Part 2" and so on. I have checked the guidelines and there is no mention that we are not allowed to post things in chapters, so I suppose it is okay. I get discouraged if a post is very long.

@TheHorse All the long posts get few comments. People here do not want to spend too much time on a discussion. I know that many comment without reading, they look at the title and at the closing paragraph.

I noted that my last post before this one got very few reads because it "appeared" long, due to the stuff I cited from Wikipedia. I also get scared off by posts that seem really long.

I just don't want to accidentally violate any rules in the TOS. With my criminal history (illegal snow pea planting, etc.), I like to tread lightly.

@Marty1 But what about the child labor thing? I'm...so...scared. Maybe I can find some older stuff that's not that long.

I don't see why not - as long as they follow the guidelines!

It seems I did read that we weren't to do that. Cute photo.

There have been several series posts like that so I don't see why it could be a problem. The guidelines don't prohibit that.

I have done it a lot in the past. I do get discouraged and move on if it is more than four or five paragraphs. I did a series about my life and did it in parts.

It depends. If net is working fine ..I read. If I know the person, and have been following him or her for fairly long and am interested in his or her opinions, then I read or return if net is giving problem. Otherwise, I prefer shorter posts...advantage of shorter post, we may have one doubt or opinion too many in respect of different aspects of a story. It brings out something that we possibly had not thought of before.

I'm kind of the same way. If it's someone I know, I will read even a longer piece. But in general, I prefer pieces that get to the point and stimulate conversation. I've violated my own "rule" a few times.

I'd try to condense it to be readable - not too long, but no too short either =)

That was the problem with my post before this one. I put a lot of thought into it, but it was just too much, I reckon.

I am not put off by the length if I find the subject interesting. I know that some of mind seem a little long once I look at them on the page.

Just checked the comments and the general consensus seems to be that it's okay. I have trouble cutting mine down sometimes. I will read long posts but I need to be a bit interested in the subject before I'll bother.
