Lloret de Mar, "a town on the Costa Brava in Spain's Catalonia region, is known for its Mediterranean beaches. The medieval hilltop Castle of Sant Joan, to the east, offers views over the area, while the central Iglesia de Sant Romà church provides examples of both Catalan Gothic and modernist architecture. On a cliff overlooking the sea, the Santa Clotilde Gardens were built in the style of the Italian Renaissance." Absolutely magnificent! When I see something round, I always think of the magical invention of the wheel. 'A wheel is a circular component that is intended to rotate on an axle bearing.' however this round postcard got its way to me via the Camel mail and all in good time as well. the Etymology of the word is stated as such: " The English word wheel comes from the Old English word hweol, hweogol, from Proto-Germanic *hwehwlan, *hwegwlan, from Proto-Indo-European" . . . and even the Greeks had a say in it! Did you know the first wheels were not used for transportation? "Evidence indicates they were created to serve as potter's wheels around 3500 B.C. in Mesopotamia—300 years before someone figured out to use them for chariots." The magic of the wheel definitely changed the world in many ways and ROUND is considered a PRODUCTIVE shape (ha ha ha I am a little round too!) I love the round postcard, and I love that everyone is standing at the postcard stands looking for new shapes! Thank you Barry @Asylym - it arrived yesterday in the pouring rain - but nothing deters my postman from bringing me news from abroad! Happy Thursday everyone - to the SA Cricket team - dont tamper with the ball this time - play fair!!!!!!

when is Barry every home - he is only home to see his doctor, maybe one of these days he will be taking his private doctor on his holidays with him. But I must tell you, if I was Barry, I would be doing exactly the same - I was born to travel and do holidays @Asylum

@Inlemay Yeah, I think he has had plenty of the Spain and Turkey holidays though... He needs to go much further down to the Southern Hemisphere one of these days...

It must have taken almost 6 weeks for the postcard to arrive, but at least it got there eventually. I was delighted to find a selection of round postcards, especially after hearing about the one you found in Moulin Rouge.
