I know I ranted about this before {I think}, but.. This whole getting dark at 5 pm is really messing with me as of late. Every single time I look out the window and see the dark my body immediately tells me it's bed time! Normally I love the dark, but as of late I'm not sure why it's throwing me off kilter a bit. Is anyone else dealing with this too??

It is certain to have a psychological effect on most people. Here in England it is dark by 4-30 PM these days and will rapidly become worse.

I'm not sure as to why it has been bothering with my system. I know I get enough sleep.. it's just weird.

I dislike the time change and wish it would stay the same year around.

I do too, I don't know why it has to change.

Maybe that's a good thing. Go to bed as soon as it gets dark and then you will be up earlier to enjoy more light time. Hopefully you will get used to the change soon.

even here near the equator where we only have dry or wet weather, it also gets darker earlier and takes a while to lighten up in the morning as the year ends.

I have no problems with dark in the afternoon, it's hard to get up at 6 in the morning when outside it seems to be still night.

No, the dark doesn't affect me that way - I just accept it.

Living close to the Arctic Circle must be hard to get used to... Going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark is bad enough, you are right!

@lisasteinmetz I don't like it to get dark so early as It feels like a day is over and life is going by too fast! I haven't been sleeping anymore than usual! But I am getting depressed, and my sister says to turn on some lights as I spend all my time in my room and the rest of the house is dark! I am going to start turning on lights as I am getting depressed about the dark. I am going to turn on the living room light right now as it won't get light for two or three more hours!

First of all, what a beautiful picture of the cat. There is periods here that I wake up to dark and go to bed to dark. It is depressing. I love to see the sky blue and sun shining myself.

I know how you feel. I also think that when its darker earlier there are a lot less people about, plus I find less people call in to see us. One of my friends hate to drive in the dark as well, as that makes her feel really tired as well as gives her a low mood.
