Good evening.I know that this is a dump question. But What is the difference between meditation and napping. I have been doing the mediation for 15 minutes. In my computer room. sitting on a mat.Close my eyes and think of something refreshing. I take a nap every afternoon.close my eyes and think of refreshing thing. I know that I am napping with the mediation you do not. I relax both ways.Is this a dumb question if so lay on me. the photo is public domaine

The point of meditation is not to think about anything. Your brain is supposedly suppose to go in some trance like state and you start to see visions and what not in a spiritual way. Do not feel bad, I fall asleep all the time when I try to do it also. It is said to take practice and discipline.

@Marty1 That is another reason I should probably never get meditating right because I have been known to sleep walk. lol

I can't meditate, my brain spins too fast. Also keeps me from falling asleep sometimes!

I wouldn´t know about meditation, as I don´t know how to do it. But I´m an expert in naps. I get into my bed to be cozy, turn on the TV in a dumb show, close my eyes and there I am. When I open them, there´s another dumb show on

I will sometimes mediate to bypass taking a nap. I always feel refreshed after meditating.

First thing first : There is a mistake in the title, you wrote "mediation" instead of meditation. I have never, never been able to meditate. I am too much of a nervous type.

@Marty1 I so understand that as I am the same. My Mom used to say that I was a "bundle of nerves"

Meditation, like sleep, rests the mind and helps quiet that inner voice for me. I should start doing more meditation too.

Meditation you just close your eyes and think. When you go to sleep you are out for the night.

Meditation is not closing your eyes and thinking to something refreshing. Meditation is to engage in mental exercise with the final purpose to reach a higher level of spiritual awareness.

I've never meditated so I don't know if there is any difference.

I guess if you're meditating you're not sleeping and vice versa. I've never really got into meditation but I know it is good for you.
