Diary Sunday 27th November 2016
After so long being used to being out of work, actually getting a weekend off-work feels like a real reward. My weekend gives me Sundays and Mondays off over the next 3-4 weeks now,
I had a long lie-in which felt great after getting up at 4.30 am all week.
My afternoon involved a creative writing workshop, and I prepared a few pieces already written up by going to the library to get them printed out. As I was leaving, a security man ran after me and asked me rather bluntly if I had been in on Saturday. I was at work all day so I said no. He stared intensely at me for a moment before apologizing for mistaking me for someone who had allegedly caused some disturbance in the library on Saturday and walked away.
1/. Why was this person not challenged at the time of his disruption?
2/. If the description of the disrupter is as vague as middle-aged, bald and bearded then half the men in Preston are likely to be challenged just as I was.
The workshop was lovely and helped calm my unsettled nerves after such a needless confrontation.
Afterwards I called in a few bars for drinks and later some pub-grub to commemorate my first week in work (albeit temporarily) and came home. A big thanks to Leanne Dempsey who ran today’s workshop events.
Diary Monday 28th November 2016
My last day off until next Sunday so I decided to go to the cinema for the afternoon to see Doctor Strange, a great movie I reviewed earlier.
I arrived at the cinema about 15-20 minutes before the screening but I couldn’t find the box office. Three members of staff were standing around doing nothing, so I asked one where I could get my ticket for the movie. She replied that I should ask Julie as if I had the slightest idea who Julie was.
I was then pointed to the one girl working as she served three customers at the sweets and ice-creams stand before sorting my ticket out for me. She coped well though her colleagues could easily have assisted her.
After the movie I got some food in for the week and came home. An e-mail told me my training course for some unpaid voluntary counselling work at the city University starts in late January. I look forward to it.

@arthurchappell Now I have an image in my mind of you writing on the computer monitor with an old fashioned quill.

you have some good questions about the library, ones I was pondering before I read that you did the same. And was the movie any good? I want to see that one myself

I once was confronted by an off duty cop because a truck like mine was involved in a hit and run.

@teamfreak16 pretty scary to find yourself facing such accusations when you know you are innocent

The cinema is annoyingly good at that sort of thing. They save money by not employing people to just sell tickets, and then expect customers to queue behind lots of people who want popcorn, coffee, nachos, can't make up their mind, where shall we sit, coffee ... with just one person serving and three or four staff milling around doing sod all!

Not a good feeling to be confronted for something that you didn't do. I am glad it was quickly cleared up. Other then that it sounds like you had a good two days off.
