trying to get new printer scanner working

I have a kodak printer I just got it
I got the print part working but I can not get
the scan part working which is what I need the most to make my photo buttons.Some time I have to scan a photo to insert in my button badge program so I can make the button but I can not get the scan to work . I even try the old fashion way I try to copy the test print paper and the scan part is not working. The soft ware is on my laptop. I was wondering if this scanner printer need wi-fi to work because I have no wi-fi at home. Thank for any information

We can't get ours to work either, and-yes, it is a Kodak.

Mine is a Canon, but I don´t blame the printer for not working as I´m quite dumb with those things.

@marguicha since I just bought it. if I can not get it to work it goes
back and I get my money back but I rather have the scan and printer working tighter
kodax ink prices are lower then other brands.

Ours will not work on either and we have really tried and tried and nothing it just will not do it. However it does everything else perfect so we are keeping them but they still will not scan.
I had a Samsung an older one which would only scan if you did it a special way and then it did it.
