THIEVERY

We all have our own pet peeves; Mine I know is definitely thieves. I have been a victim many times; They stole electronics and cherished items. I know of a woman who loved her three mango trees; But every mango season she was plagued by thieves. She tried everything but couldn't keep them away; Until she got a pitbull, which kept them at bay. Why do people take what is not theirs?; Boldly stealing without any fears. Even my boyfriend was stolen from me one time; No, I wasn't upset, I was not proud that he was mine. I mentally thanked the girl who took him away; She didn't know it, but she really made my day. Wasn't long before she realized her mistake; That she had stolen a liar and a rake; Most times covetousness and thievery do not pay; If you want or need something, find another way.

People steal because it is easier than putting the effort to work.

That is true. Getting something for free tickles them, but then, they could land in jail.

@Kandae11 Look, we say 'their eye too big'...when people are lazy and expect the good things to come to them! Happy if they land in jail. Good riddance.

I have had things stolen from me in the past and it is not a pleasant experience, but I could not even begin to turn my experience in poetry like you have. Well done :D

I have had three bicycles stolen from me--the last one right out of our garage.

Imagine that? You might have to keep the next one in the house.

That's the problem with stealing from others - you never know what you're gonna get

So true, so very true. The package is nicely wrapped, but the contents could be a big surprise.

Being what he was, it didn't take much effort to steal him.

"Until she got a pitbull, which kept them at bay." Great line! I remember shaking the hand of the man that stole my 2nd wife and saying "good luck as you are going to need it" and walking away. Is it "rake" or fake or snake?

Yes it is "rake" - which means a man who is indifferent to proper conduct.

The sad thing must be that sometimes thievery does seem to pay. Also, some just don't care about others.

I agree. I've been a victim too and it isn't pleasant.
