Yesterday, November 30, was a holiday in the Philippines because we observed the birthday of our hero, Andres Bonifacio. Since there is no work, my son helped his father put up some Christmas lights and lanterns in our terrace and near the roof.
We have a lighted capiz lantern and one that is made of shiny pink foil, and a LED Christmas light shaped like small lanterns. It looked so good at night.
We keep it lighted from 6 p.m. when dusk appears, till about 8:30 p.m. We do not leave it lighted overnight to be safe from fire.
At the living room is our 18-year-old Christmas tree.
Do you also decorate your home for Christmas?

Still thinking of an idea, I want to make a solar lantern because I still have a spare small panel and battery, it's time that I do not have much, I do not want to give a cent to our greedy electric company from our Christmas latern

@hereandthere sure, actually its any lantern, even our old " parol" the only differnce is the bulb inside is 12v dc instead of 220ac powered by a battery that is charged by a panel running through a charge controller. The lantern is not the main thing but the source of what lights it up.

Oh that's very nice; a solar-powered lantern. I wish I can have one too. We just minimize the no. of hours that the lights are turned on to save on electricity, and we are using LED bulbs which is more economical.

We had it for years, almost three years that we are using it. Also the Christmas tree, already 18 years old, except for the ornaments which I added some red balls to make it look "happier."

It is the most important symbol of Christmas, and of course, the Belen or the Nativity Scene.
