My class ends at 3PM and this day, I decided to visit the houses of my students who have problems with my subject. I need to be back before 5PM in the school so that I was only able to visit 2 houses. The first house that I visited was the house of my student who was formerly a bully in the classroom. His mom was there and we had a lengthy conversation. Afterward, I visited the house of another student. That student is behaving well in the class but just have a poor reading habit. I gave my two students extra assignments to do during the weekend. Both of them have a common problem why they are both weak on my subject. I think the root cause is their addiction in computer games. I hope that my visit with them will create a change in their behavior in my class. I have been always busy but I will try to do house visitation in the following weeks to come. How have you been?

Thanks Cristy! I wish I could always be a good teacher with my students. There are too many of my students who graduated in Elementary yet he still does not know how to do a real reading. What is worse is that some of them can hardly recognize words. I went bananas when I asked one of them to read and they really couldn't read at all. They were guessing the words. It was a real headache.

It was good of you to visit and try to help them, and I hope it all works out for them, and they can get in the habit of doing their work before the games.

Yes, I will closely monitor them to make sure they are doing what I asked them to do. I hope their parents will also cooperate.

@tammys85 I am not yet sure. I am going to check their quiz to know if they really understood the lesson.

You are a very responsible teacher I hope your visits will bring positive changes to your students. In fact most parents care about it, especially when the teachers visit them in person. It seems something serious.

@annierose In fact even if I receive a SMS from the teachers, I already pay attention to it and take it seriously

@youless I think it depends on one's personality. My family is like that too.

Yes, I hope so all parents will look at it seriously and monitor their kids more closely. I have talked to some and came up with some agreements but there were still other parents who just said agreed but did not do what was being agreed upon. On the other hand, I love those parents who have been very cooperative when it comes with their kids in school.

I think that is an excellent idea and I hope it has positive results for the students. Video games is a problem with a lot of people.

You are a very good teacher because you do that for the sake of at least knowing what's the problem of your students . I commend you for that . I must say that most students have a problem in being addicted to games in the computer . My nephew -in-law got kicked out from UP Los Banos when he was in college , because he and 2 classmates were cutting classes because they are just in the computer shop , gaming . They were all kicked out because of that .
