I'm pretty happy right now. My wonderful neighbor's cute, sweet, smart, and artistic daughter is turning 18 in a few days. She's already a pretty darn good artist and she's doing an internship at a vet clinic, as well as doing advanced classes to finish up her high school. She's a really bright star and her mom, her dad, her brother, my dear partner and I all want to see her fly high and go far. We just finished collaborating with her mom on getting her a group present. Her mom didn't have enough to pay for this so we put a little money in and I found a good sale. We're getting her an acrylic starter set, a good one, that comes with a folding paintbox easel (I actually have one and it's awesome), 12 tubes of acrylic paint, acrylic medium, gesso, a palette, and a bunch of other neat stuff. I'm throwing in a couple of brush sets and my partner is going to stretch her a couple of nice canvasses. Working together, we're going to give her an awesome start in the world of acrylic painting - she'll have everything she needs, and can easily replace parts of it as she runs out. I'll include a copy of the catalog to the online art store I buy from, so she can see the world of wonder out there. When I was young, my interest in art was made possible by people who helped get me art materials. I am happier than I can express to be able to be part of that for another young artist.

@Rohvannyn No. I did see a turkey but not sure what you refer to exactly.

Is the above picture an example of her work -- very good.

No, it's one I did because it sort of fit the theme. She's just getting started with acrylic paint and pen and ink, she's also done some stuff with pencils.

It is great to do this for her, because you do know how valuable good tools are.

@Rohvannyn It will be really something. If you're there, you should try to have a camera handy.

It's nice that you still do a little art, now and again. I wish you well with it.
