A small canteen in our place has recycled Christmas lantern made out of used soda containers/plastic bottles.
One soda brand uses a very colorful, reflectorized bottle which is so beautiful to recycle, and local folks here fashioned a beautiful Christmas lantern out of it. They also have it on video how to make it. So one time, I'll make mine too because I already have two plastic bottles here.
I do not drink soda, so I just asked a friend to give me the bottles. It is the one in the photo above; though it is blurred; taken from a market canteen.

I haven't watched it; yes, so many people here are so creative making lanterns (parols) out of indigenous materials or recycled materials; other such Christmas lantern was made of peanuts(with shells); corn, or corn husk, coconut husk, banana stalks, etc.

It is reflectorized, so some tricycle drivers use it as decoration in their trikes; others make flowers out of it and place it on fences and it emits light when lighted by vehicles at night.

People can be so creative in recycling things instead of throwing it in the garbage can, then later in landfills.
