How to Handle a Bully

Found this quote this morning. Recycling it from a blog called Inspiring Pictures. They often do quotes in picture form. Most of the time I do find their quotes inspiring but this time ... I DISAGREE.
(1) If you're being bullied, PRAY. It's always good to request a legion of angels for backup! Angels are invisible and the bully won't know what hit him (or her)!
You won't be able to see them either but when you're afraid, you need to believe that you're not alone. It's the human psyche. If you feel forsaken, you are already defeated. Give yourself courage.
(2) Report them to a law enforcement authority or whoever you deem an "authority figure" (school principal, etc.). The Authorities may not do anything or take appropriate action to protect you; but you want to have it on record should the time ever come that you need to clearly explain WHY YOU HAD TO PROTECT YOURSELF!
(3) You could take some self-defense classes and/or teach yourself how to FIGHT! If it's really life-threatening, learn how to use a gun. I don't own a gun, never used a gun. But if it's LIFE or DEATH, it's justified!
(4) If Number 3 is not an option for you, improve your vocabulary. Most bullies aren't that smart. If you dazzle them with a big word, they'll get disoriented and their brain will start hurting because they're trying to think about what you just said to them. While they're dumbfounded, stupefied, dazed and confused, you can RUN FOR YOUR LIFE and CALL FOR HELP!!
Well! How do you handle bullies?
Sorry. I just don't think the finger trick will work!

I just don't understand why pea brained people need to bully others. We are all the same - human that is number one. It is just natural that we are all different. If you don't like someone leave them be but don't bully. Just my opinion. I like your suggestions.

Don't know what you do to ignore your neighbor, but when my husband puts his ear buds in his ears, he doesn't hear anybody or anything!! I have to stand in front of him and wave to get his attention.

I have a new white noise machine I put on when I go to sleep and it can drown out noise but want to hear my alarm clock too. I feel it is not worth playing his game most of the time and that he must need attention so he has to make so much noise so I go about my day.

Fortunately the last time I dealt with bullies was in high school. They used words rather than fists. Their words used to hurt, but by 10th grade I was immune and it wasn't fun for them anymore.

Bullies for me go back to elementary school. You're right. The words hurt. Fortunately, the school officials intervened and/or kept such matters in check. Troublemakers were suspended or to the extreme ... kicked out of the school. Also, my mom and dad encouraged me and uplifted my spirit, so I could keep going.

I am aware of certain "failures" on the part of those in charge to not take precautions to help. Won't judge. Don't know all the details as to why. Do know the situation ended tragically for the person being bullied. I guess that's why the quote struck a nerve with me.
