I felt bad for Brendan Fraser

The video embedded is the trailer of the remake of the 1999 movie, The Mummy. The original movie spawned 3 sequels and it starred Brendan Fraser. He is Younger than Tom Cruise but his role is given to Tom Cruise because Tom Cruise looks younger than him. Brendan is currently balding and he gained a lot of weight. From what I see in the remake, They changed the gender of the mummy, In the original the Mummy is male and he is in love with Rachel Weiss' character that is why he kidnapped her. I think the remake have a different story since the Mummy is a woman. It makes me feel; old that a movie from the 90's is getting a remake. I was a young teen when the original movie got released. They almost considered Brendan for the remake but his weight gain and balding made the producers dump him. They dump him for looking old but his replacement is older than him but looks younger.

I haven't seen Brendan Fraser anymore since that movie . So , he has balded and grown old . He should have done something to maintain his image and looks , because after all he is a celebrity . See, Tom Cruise is older than him in age yet he looks younger . That's because he has done good things to maintain his good looks . That's how it should be when you are a celebrity or even if just an ordinary person .

@CaptAlbertWhisker But you can be good looking even if you eat meat as long as they are lean and be always eaten with a veggie on the side . And of course , he should always be working out to maintain the good built of his body . He does look old already . Sad , that he looks old now . Though , i think this is after 10 years perhaps so it's inevitable he has changed in looks as he is really older ?

@SIMPLYD This is what he looks like now. This is a Photo of him taken this year. They almost considered putting him on this movie but yeah... I think he should just work out to lose the weight and shave his head and accept he is balding. Maybe he will get projects again if he do that. he should also consider accepting villain roles so he will be on movies again. On the other Hand Tom, Cruise looks the same, that is why he still get projects even if he is like 54. His leading lady on this movie can be old enough to be his daughter.

That is the before and after photos of him. From what I know he is now playing dad roles on tv. He is not a Hollywood leading man anymore. The thing is, to be good looking you have to sacrifice delicious foods. It can be depressing to eat nothing but vegetable salad and some bland saltless fish.

I am just now hearing of a remake of this movie. Loved the first 2, but the 3rd was garbage... I am intrigued that the mummy is female, but the fact that Tom Cruise is playing the main character...ugh. I may rent it.

Worshiping aliens may have perks. Tom cruise stopped aging. He is making a remake of a movie of an actor younger than him. Brendan really let his self go. I am also intrigued why the Mummy is female, The original I remember was set pre-world war 1 and now the setting is present day.

@Hanyouyomi he did have a hit and almost have a chance to revive his career with Journey to the center of the world but he made a mistake declining the sequel due to his loyalty to the director of the first movie. that is when he started having box office bombs and you know actors still get movies even if they have multiple bombs as long as they maintain their looks. he gained a lot of weight and he have a massive hairloss.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I thought Frazier wasn't being brought on because he's been inane too many box office bombs. But him looking physically unfit makes some sense. Too bad Hollywood exces don't know what physical exercise is. Also I should've known you'd say your piece on this. I saw the trailer earlier this weak, and it made the film seem mediocre. There was no energy from it, at least none that could feel. And the mummy being woman? Oooh, can't wait for the faux-feminists to jump all over that. Me? I hope she's a good antagonist with nuance and terror. Because I feel that our media seems to lack memorable, appealing, and compelling female antagonists.

The original made Rachel Weiss a star, it is popular during the early 2000's, the first movie is a horror movie while the sequels are family friendly adventure fantasy movies.

@CaptAlbertWhisker That explains why I didn't see it. I don't watch horror.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I didn't consider it to be horror. More action and suspense than anything. It didn't scare me at all, but I loved all the effects and the story line.

I know The Mummy is not really that old. It is technically an early 2000's movie.
