The Pickle Effect

Reading a post by @TheHorse (31536) reminded me of a theory my husband has had for years.
He had a hunting dog he named Pickle and he had a bad habit of not wanting to go back in his pen. (The dog, not my husband 
)
The older Pickle got, the worse he got about not going in his pen at night.
My husband said that you can see the Pickle Effect in humans at times also. A friend who has always been rather bossy has gradually gotten positively overbearing.
Another friend who was frugal years ago became very selfish in his old age.
I'm sure many of you have seen the Pickle Effect in others. Not true for everyone, but our traits seem to grow stronger, whether good or bad.

I can agree with that. My grandma was always a bit of a neat freak, but it got worse as she got older.....come to think of it, my mom is like that too.

I keep hoping my trait of not being a perfectionist in my house keeping will completely turn the other way!
