Day 92
Proverbs 13:25
Proverbs 13:25 The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
Many things in life will satisfy you, but how many of those things will satisfy your soul? You might be involved in many great causes and activities, but have you left your soul in a state of malnutrition? How does one go about feeding the soul?
Solomon recognized the difference between the things he did and how satisfied it made or didn’t make his soul.
Most people are involved in some form of religion whether Christian, Judeo, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim or myriad other religions available to man. However, in your religious pursuit are you feeding your soul?
God has shown there is only one way to full satisfaction and that is to believe and trust him as God our Father, and accept Jesus, his Son, as Savior and Lord. When you do, you will be on your way to a full and satisfying life: body and soul. However, you must be a daily partaker of God’s Word to fully satisfy your soul.
If you claim to be a Christian, yet you have not been to church in a while, have not opened your Bible to read and study it, have not spent any time with other believers, and have done whatever you wanted to satisfy your flesh, your claim to being a Christian is doubtful.
Solomon had it all. He didn’t withhold himself from anything he wanted to do, yet he found it was all vanity.
Ecclesiastes 2:10 And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labor: and this was my portion of all my labor.
11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labor that I had labored to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
Solomon found there was only one way to satisfy his soul.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (KJV)
God’s Word satisfies the soul. It gives substance to your life and makes you a whole person.
David showed how God leads and provides our daily need to satisfy your soul.
Psalm 23:1 < The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
God gives us everything we need.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (KJV)
God doesn’t just provide food for your bodies, but food for your souls as well and that food is God’s Word. When you partake daily of his Word, your soul will be satisfied and you will feel fulfilled in everything you do.
Let’s pray: Father, help me spend time with you in your Word daily feeding my soul with the nutrition only found there. Let my life be one of total satisfaction, body and soul, so I might be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Yes, spiritual matters are more important than the physical but God provides both. (Matthew 6:33)
