Does using a wireless mouse pose a security risk for my computer?

Well, does it? That is what I typed in a Google search a few minutes ago. From reading articles that come up in a search like this, I have learned a few things. 1. Flaws in the design of the wireless mouse or wireless keyboard can lay the groundwork for a clever hacker. Wired Magazine online has a very good article below: 2. That thing you put into your computer's USB port is called a 'Dongle' 3. I read about what is called a 'mousejacking' 4. Even the dongle has it's own 'firmware' and as with all 'ware' there are frequent updates to combat vulnerabilities. My best advice to you my friends here at myLot: Try to keep your system 'WIRED'
Security researchers' "mousejacking" attack exploits vulnerable wireless devices to type on a target PC from a hundred yards away.

Just don't leave the dongle in the PC's USB port when you are not using your computer and if it remains on 24/7. I packed my wireless mouse and dongle away until I figure out if it is really safe to use it. It worked perfectly for me yesterday and was under 12 dollars so for that reason I went ahead and purchased it. But they say blue tooth devices have ways of making wireless extensions safer than the ones used by most of us on our home based computers.
