My sucky morning..

This morning my 14 year old had All County auditions about half an hour away at 9am. My 10 year old had a basketball game at 9, and my daughter had Winterguard practice at 9:45... So I managed to find rides for my 10 year old and my daughter so I could bring the 14yo to his audition. We had a snow storm last night, so I wasn't sure how the roads would be.. mine hadn't been plowed, but that's usual. I left a few minutes early to be safe... good thing I did. As I left I noticed something funny. The wheels sounded strange and the car was pulling to the right. I pulled over and looked and didn't see anything, so I thought it was just ice build up in the wheel wells. I figured driving on a plowed road might loosen that up.. So I turn onto the main road and things get worse. It's making a horrible sound, the drive isn't smooth. It didn't feel like a flat tire, but something was definitely not right.. So I pull over again, and this time I see that it is a flat tire! I called my husband who was at work. He showed up about 15 minutes later with one of his coworkers to help change the tire. I ended up taking hubby's car so my son wouldn't miss his audition.. Then we get a phone call from hubby, he can't get the lug nut off the tire.. but I was too far away at that point, and had an important audition to get to. So hubby called my oldest son who was on his way to work. The oldest picked up hubby and his coworker and brought them back to work, making himself a little late in the process. But the 14 yo got to his audition on time, and did well with it also. We just went through a lot of trouble to get him there!!

It was only the 1 lug nut we couldn't get off. We ended up using an air compressor to blow the tire back up, and it held the air for the rest of the day. I haven't checked it today to see if it's still okay. Hubby is going to go out later and take a look at it... I will have his car for a few days until he knows that the tire is ok.

Wow sounds like one of those days. Glad you got it all worked out. Car problems are such a pain in the rear.
