The only reason I used to use a credit card, was because I didn't like carrying cash. Now that there's the option to use a debit card, I use it almost all the time.
When I was a student, I used to work in the credit industry and I know how important it is to have some credit built up, for times when you might need it (applying for a mortgage, car loan or a utility like electricity or phone service). Therefore, I do make sure to put one or two purchases on a credit card each month, but I pay them off in full when the bill comes.

Definitely your debit card is better....since you are only spending the money you already have and there is no chance of you going bankrupt or anything....however at times I prefer to have both my credit as well as debit card....
