Do the flash of camera harm new born child?

Generally these days when children are born, parents use the cell phone cameras or other cameras to take snaps. But the flash of the camera create strong light on the eyes of the child. Are the rays harmful for the eyes of the new born child?

it may not hurt it,but i bet it would frighten the piss out of an infant. they'd have no idea what that flash was.

As babies live in mother's womb in dark for 9 months, on birth they dont like strong light.
