Making Hay while the moon shines?

You got to be kidding me.
But to get down to it, you can earn a living any time you want. As far as working the graveyard shift, well, that is probably the most difficult for a lot of people to do.
Night stockers who are paid a bit more than the average day shift would pay is sometimes more attractive an option to several people.
There might be some real advantages such as:
1. You would be driving home from work away from heavy traffic in the wee morning hours to get back home.
2. You would be likely less crowded by the public if you stocked at past midnight as opposed to doing the exact same job in the daytime hours when customers always stop and ask questions, thus cutting into your productivity.
3. You may find that taking a smoke out in the lot during your 30 minute lunch is peaceful when you are standing in a virtually empty parking lot.
4. If you work the 3rd shift you get to sleep like a vampire so that would mean that you have to really find a way to keep the glare of sunlight out through the windows of your bedroom or dorm.
5. Getting paid a bit more than a daytime stocker would be one added thing.
To sum it all up, it's true that making hay while you have the chance is what it's really all about.

Did you work in pairs? It might be kind of lonely to work alone, late nights if there was nobody around to talk to while making the rounds or at least, spending break time and having lighthearted conversations. It takes real dedication to the job to work night shift I think. Not everybody is up to the task though. Most people are only cut out for working days. By the way, Merry Christmas to you. It's right around the corner. Won't be long.

I loved working over night because I could get a lot more done. Of course I did not do that until my kids were in school all day so I could get some sleep.

Actually this kind of shift would suit me a lot. I seem to be a night owl.
