If time machine did exist would goverments hide it ?

If time travel did exist do you think the government would hide it? I say yes. Why ? can you image some one going back in time . And changing their country were their family is running it. A time machine all so can probley start a war to. This why a time machine can be bad if they did exist or do they exist and we do not know it.

The government will hide anything that they think will cause widespread panic in a country. I won't be surprised if they hide a time machine or the viability of the concept of time travel fro the people.
