Drink more Boost and eat healthy

Six months ago, I've reported on my physical from my doctor's appointment. Today I had my next physical since last week's bloodwork. Though I'm doing good with drinking water, she did report that two of my bad cholersterols were a tad high. She wanted me to still eat healthy foods with less salt. Though I'm stilll under weight, I did ask her for suggestions on how to add weight, like go on a diet. She mentioned to drink protein drinks like Boost and Ensure, 3x a day. Those drinks are expensive, unless they're on sale or I have for a coupon for it. So I might consider it getting in next year and see if it works out by my next physical in late June 2017. Since I'll be getting a crock pot for Christmas from my brother, any ideas for healthy and easy crock pot recipes for me to make?
I also had my pap smear done test today. I won't know the results until 2 weeks from today and pray for good news. For now, no more doctor's appointments until next spring for my eye doctor.

I bet adding a bit more to your daily food intake would help you gain weight. We've gone vegan for the last few months. Hubby's last blood tests came back much better though somehow or other his fatty cholesterol is an average high. How he managed that is beyond me. He takes lots of mineral supplements as well as zero meat.

@snowy22315 None of us have had cow milk cheese since last summer. Same with ice cream. We've gone on the wagon.

@bunnybon7 That's true. It's so hard to gain/lose weight.

@abbygreenhill Thanks. Maybe Ensure. I know my SIL drinks it too for her diet.

hope all your health reports are just fine. This might help
Who says comfort food can't be good for you, too? These healthy slow cooker recipes for chili, chicken with vegetables, pork roast, side dishes and stews make hearty meals on chilly nights.

Walmart offers a generic brand that is a little less expensive.

I might keep it inconsideration, though I don't shop at Walmart often. I might stick with Aldi's though.

I always prefer vegetables and fruit, not to forhget the protein from white meat over red meat. Pure drinking water is better than sodas or flavored water

The drinks you mention are terrible. They do not contain real food. Look to plants that grow, not what is manufactured in a plant.

@KristenH We make our own drinks using organic fruits or vegetables. Always better b/c you know what is in these!

there are recipes online for making your own protein drinks, not sure if that will help. Lot's of good things one can make easily in a crockpot, I tend to use mine for roasts and stuff.

@KristenH thinking maybe you can make the drink, or at least get a powder cheaper.

@KristenH I understand that very well! I have a small stool just outside my kitchen that I use sometimes to sit on in the kitchen while I prepare meals. I'm thinking I can use that to sit the slow cooker on. It would be just the right size and I can sit it out of the way while it cooks.

It is better to be underweight than overweight; and that's my problem, need to lose some weight! Hope everything would be fine for you.

Spaghetti and Italian sausage in a crockpot is awesome. That is one of the best meals I ever cooked honestly. it tasted like it came from a fine Italian restaurant, if I do say so myself..

Thanks for the recommendation. I have breakfast sausage. But I'm not sure if that would do. I would have to buy a healthy one for it.

I know.
