I fell off the wagon

Dec 21, 2016 I've been on a quest to get up at 5 a.m., instead of my usual 9 a.m. but a couple of nights ago I fell into the internet/computer game vortex and stayed up way too long past my bedtime. When I finally went to bed around 1:30 a.m., I turned off my alarm and gave myself permission to sleep until I woke up the next morning, which turned out to be 8 a.m. So now I have to retrain myself to get up at that early time. This morning, one day later, I managed to get up at 6:30. Tomorrow, it'll be 6 a.m. and earlier still each day until I'm back on the wagon. Have you ever fallen off the wagon with anything? Were you able to manage getting back on, or did you just forget about the wagon altogether?

Thanks for asking! 3 steps forward, two steps back. Progress is being made.

I go to bed around the same time every night and wake up when my body tells me to. I love it that I don't have to set alarms anymore.

I was happily doing the same—no alarm, waking up with the light from the window—and then all the eye drama started and I learned the surgery is sometimes scheduled as early as 6:30a.m. Egad. That's when I put myself into training for the early time. Well, I guess I outsmarted myself. Winter hit hard, and the surgery has been postponed until mid-spring! I'm doing my best to keep to the early rising hour because I don't want to have to train again. But it's sooo hard! I can do it, though, at least that's what I tell myself.

@blitzfrick Would you believe I fell asleep before and had a nice nap?

It must be hard to resist because many have this issue.

There are two kinds of people in the world, early birds and night owls. I'm a night owl trying to fly with the early birds. Argh.

Sleep has never been a problem, I wake up at 6 no matter what time I went to bed. My body clock won't stop.. No wagons to fall off I guess for me, can't think of one.

I guess I've made it back on the wagon. Now shooting for 4:30a.m. Because, why not? In the early bird vs night owl category, I guess you're one of the lucky early birds.

I get sleepy soon after 10 PM and always (almost) wake up before 7 AM.

You have the luck of the early bird biorhythms. When those tickets were being handed out I was still asleep, apparently.
