I just finished watching a video from a woman who likes to spend a lot of time outdoors and she is well compensated for it. I did find a watch a few days ago in the parking lot but I didn't keep it. It might have had sentimental value, but she has found gift cards with money still on them and the amounts of the gift cards alone, just blew me away. I'm definitely going to keep my eyes open for those. I don't think that there is a way to return them, so I wouldn't have to feel guilty. She also collected cans and bottles for recycling. I'm always seeing those just tossed out of car windows. I'm not sure where you can turn those in for money, but it might be something to look into. I think all toll, she itemized everything and it came to a total of a little over $600.00!! How cool is that??

I think in Manitoba the cans go to a scrap yard or something where they buy them by weight. Here in Alberta, we pay a deposit of 10 or 25 cents on all beverage containers and get that refunded at a container depot. So, finding them is worth at least 10 cents. 2 litre containers are worth 25 cents. Interesting about finding the gift cards with money left on them.

That's kind of sad when you think of it!! But I would think that they wouldn't lose them twice!!

That is a good reward just for keeping your eyes open while out and about.

I pick up aluminum cans all the time. We have a scrapyard here that buys them, and I generally get about $5 a month from the cans I pick up. It's not much, but every one of those discarded cans is basically discarded money.

Foraging seems to be very popular in some areas, including here! Maybe we all need to do a little of that.
