Signs You May Not Be Drinking Enough Water

I always worry that people aren't getting enough water. Dehydration is a deadly thing and can come on quickly usually with dizziness and nausea. Here are a few things to keep in mind so you are sure to get enough:
*The brain is made up of mostly water. If find yourself getting chronic headaches that seem to never end it could be because of a lack of water. Dizziness can also be caused from a water lack in the brain.
*Sometimes the body mistakes hunger for thirst. It's a good idea, especially if you are trying to diet, to drink a glass of water first before reaching for a snack.
*Your blood pressure generally should fall around 120 over 80. If it is higher than normal you might try drinking some water and wait a while.
* If you are having a rash of real dry skin it may be because of a lack of water and not the weather. Put on some moisturizer and drink some water and it should be better in a day or two.
*Your urine is supposed to be a pale yellow, almost clear. If it is bright yellow it may mean you are not drinking enough water.
*Your body may also tell you you are thirsty by making you sleepy at strange times during the day. Your brain can't focus well without water.
* Try drinking a glass of water when you get thirsty instead of coffee, tea or pop. None of the before mentioned takes the place of water in your body. Every organ needs it.

I like herbal "teas" which are not really tea, and they are refreshing and give interest to my water.

@GardenGerty .....Teas are wonderful. Herbal or whatever. I feel that water is water and teas are teas. Some people get those confused.

On very cold days I much prefer something warm to drink as icy cold water is not for me.

I have been making a real effort to drink more water lately. I have read so many things about it, and I was having headaches in the middle of the night. I also am trying to counteract some of that sugar that comes with family visits and people who love to bake. I have a glass of water beside me almost all of the time.

I seem to feel better when I get enough water. I think if we know I bodies well enough we can see these changes and improvements. I have a water jug that holds 32 ounces and try to drink three of them daily.

I read somewhere that we need more water in cold weather than in hot weather as the lungs have to work much harder to defend us. Can“t remember where I read it but it does make sense as I walk a lot and I feel like drinking a lot more liquid afterwards. i also keep an eye on the colour of the urine and that kind of thing.

No! There are many kinds of teas and many are much, much more than colored water. Water is water.

@celticeagle I love tea, but to me, I feel like I am still drinking water, bitter, or odd tasting water, but still water. Right now I actually have a cup of water here

Good tips. All of which I didn't know except that we are mostly water and we need it. I've also been finding that if I don't drink enough water I have restless leg syndrome. Drinking a bottle of water gets rid of it. I've been drinking a lot of water lately. I just bought a second case this month. 28 bottles to a case.

Drinking water is very important. I always try and drink lots of water and see to it that my family does too. I try to limit other beverages to meal time. In the morning I drink water before drinking my coffee. I can tell when I haven't had enough water.

That's great. A lot of people have the wrong perception that pop and coffee are as good as water and they aren't
