My DNA Test... Okay... All I'm Spitting Is Bubbles!!

I'm supposed to fill the tube up to the wavy line and all I'm doing is filling up the tube with bubbles... which they don't want. I don't know whether the bubbles will slowly break down or what to do next?? Do I empty it and start over?? I'm beginning to panic??

It's available through Ancestry... you have that in Australia don't you?? You just might be in luck!

@Hate2Iron Yes we do but on thinking about it I'm not sure why I'd want to do the test. I could find out more about my background I guess.

I have sent in a bunch of these, I am not sure why you are just getting bubbles but make sure to get enough actual saliva in. Let the saliva accumulate in our mouth before sending it into the tube. Relax it will work.

@Hate2Iron I have done every member of my family I am quite the spit expert lol Now is the fun part, waiting for the results. My last set came back surprisingly fast. And who knows, we may even be related, my results are on ancestry.

Yes... I emptied it and started again and it worked like a charm. They should simply tell you to drool instead of spit. Thanks for the advice!!

You can empty it and it will be fine. I suggest try to make yourself drool, that is the best way to get a lot of saliva into the vile.

That is what I did and then read where you can produce more by massaging your cheeks above your back teeth. That worked. Done and ready to go! Thanks for the tips. They really should include something like this with the kit. Simply saying to "spit" can cause a bit of stress for a first timer!!
