Day 114 Proverbs 15:13 Proverbs 15:13 A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. 14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeks knowledge: but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness. 15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast. You all know people who always seem to be happy. Nothing causes them to lose hope. You also like to be around people like that because it infects your disposition as well. Solomon compared the cheerful or merry heart to that of fools and found a merry heart always had something to be cheerful about. While fools fed on their foolish ways and were never happy. As Christians, you have something to be happy about every day, which should put a smile on your face and bring joy and happiness to all those around you, and that is your salvation. Satan would have you be doleful and miserable by telling you that your salvation wasn’t real, and Jesus’ blood on the cross didn’t cleanse your sin. Fools believe Satan and try to make everyone they meet believe the lies he tells. They put questions in your mind about the validity of your salvation and your reason for being cheerful plummets in self-doubt. Satan is a liar and will do all he can to cause you to lose your hope, hope that makes your heart merry and gives you a cheerful disposition. It’s time to cast your doubt away and tell Satan to take a hike and not bring his woeful thoughts around you because you are a child of God, freed from Satan’s chains, and you have every reason to be cheerful. Don’t let the fools of this world who feed on Satan’s lies, cause you misery and discontent. Jesus set you free through his blood on the cross and your salvation is cause enough to put a smile on your face and make your heart merry. Let’s pray: Father, let my heart be merry and cheerful as I remember my salvation through the shed blood of Jesus, your Son. Help me tell Satan to take a hike when he comes around me with his foolish thoughts that lead to hopelessness and despair. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. There is the belief in some quarters that Christians who perpetually wear a long face are more religious.

We need to change our persona. I'm not somber or wear a long face. Happy New Year!
