Back to Christmas

I know there were things I did not share about our Christmas trip. More of the downer things, or concerning things.
My sister-in-law and I got in her van to go pick up a take out lunch, and we began to drive and heard an awful yelping. A little Yorkie type dog had been curled up against her tire, out of sight. No collar, very scared.
If anyone is able to work with a dog or any other animal, it is my husband Bob, so I alerted him. He got bitten in three places trying to get the dog out of its new hiding place, against the tire of another of my brother's cars. Glad to say it did not get infected. The guys, Bob and my brother called animal control. They came out and gently removed the injured animal. The dog was bleeding, we suspect it was hiding under the car to get away from a bigger animal that had attacked it. It had been able to walk to hide under the next car and we do not believe it was badly hurt. It is a shame it was out running the streets on its own, though.
The other not so great thing is that the brakes went out on our Monte Carlo as we were almost home. Hubby has been working so he gets home when there is not much daylight left to work on the car. Glad to say he finished the brake job today, but while he had the car jacked up we saw a piece that was damaged and we had to go get a replacement for it. He hopes to get more car stuff done after church tomorrow.
So there is the not so good part of Christmas. It still was not bad, we are still healthy and safe.

I know, I felt badly that it looked abandoned and neglected. Yes, he likes old cars, and sometimes the parts give him fits but he could sure have a lot worse hobby.

I'm so sorry for that poor dog. I hope he will be all right. I'm glad animal control was able to get him and take care of him. I'm sorry your brakes went out, but good thing your husband was able to get it fixed. I hope he's able to get the rest of it fixed soon.
Have a wonderful day today as you start on this first day of the new year.

What ever happened to the little dog? Did it survive?

The dog did not appear to be seriously injured. Our hope is that its owners were found or that it is given a new home. I think it was horribly scared. There is a large stray cat that wanders the area and probably hurt it in the first place. It was able to walk after the tire went over it, but it was on soft ground when that happened, but poor little thing was scared.

Yeah, no sign of any kind of infection. Good caring persons picked up the dog.

I hope the dog is okay, I know that they were very prompt and gentle with it. We always have some car stuff, but that is like me, I always have some craft stuff.

We have so many fixable care troubles it is hard to know where to start, but it keeps hubby out of mischief.
