The Greatest Generation

I try to enjoy every season of life I am in. I am apart of Generation X and I am grateful that I was raised by those of the Silent Generation. I have always been grateful for the influences that were apart of my upbringing. The anchor Tom Brokaw called the Silent Generation the Greatest Generation. I will not age myself, but I must agree. The generation that was born between 1925-1945 seem to be cut from a different cloth. No generation is perfect, each generation has it's negatives and positives. However, one of the greatest things that stand out to me about the Silent Generation is they were genuine. That generation's word meant something, they seem to have a standard they lived by. I appreciate what each generation brings to the table. The work ethic, honoring their parents and the tenacity to keep going after the depression is what makes the Silent Generation, the Greatest Generation in my eyes!

i was actually raised by my grandmother-who was pre-silent generation (1904)..but my mother is either silent or boomer depending on who you go by...one thing i have noticed about her generation is unfortunetly, some are hoarders-including her if you don't watch her.i think the previous generations gave them the lessons of the great depression.

Hey! I totally agree with you. I believe that generation held onto things (hoarders) because of the depression. I was raised with my grandmother and her mother as well. Happy New Year!
