New Year, New . . . ?

Many people make a list of things every new year called "Resolutions". A list of positive things they would like to achieve throughout the year. For a majority of people the list will consist of eating less, drinking less, swearing less. . . basically doing less of bad habits one wants to get rid of.
If this is your kind of list, then shouldn't it be called New Years "Regulations" ? Because you are basically sentencing yourself into a system of restricting your addictive behavior in hopes of ridding bad habits towards a goal of self satisfaction and healing.
To me "resolutions", is coming to terms and accepting things for what they are. An act of closure to symbolize you moving on from the depths of where you were. Giving yourself a new start, a do-over, a mulligan, a fresh perspective.
What ever the reason, to all those who make lists, power to you and good luck towards your goal(s) of self resilience.

I used to make them every year, about five per year. And I stuck to, on average..... none.
